Introduction

Indians need a visa to visit South Korea. South Korea issues e-visas to Indians and can take up to 12 working days to process these visas. South Korea's single-entry tourist visa is valid for 90 days which Indians can use to stay for up to 30 days in the country.

Who Can Apply?

Can Indians apply for an e-visa for South Korea? Indian citizens are not eligible to apply for an e visa for South Korea. They must apply for a visa before leaving India through VFS Global.

Documents Required

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from South Korea.
  • Visa Application Form: Completed and signed. This can usually be downloaded from the website of the South Korean Embassy or Consulate.
  • Passport-sized Photograph: A recent color photograph meeting specific requirements (e.g., plain background, specific dimensions).
  • Proof of Travel Itinerary: Details of your travel plans, including flight reservations.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservations or a letter of invitation if staying with a host.
  • Financial Means: Proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay in South Korea, such as bank statements or a letter from your employer stating your salary.
  • Employment Details: Information about your current employment, including employer's details and proof of leave if employed.
  • Travel Insurance: Some consulates may require proof of travel insurance covering medical expenses and repatriation costs.
  • Application Fees: Short Term Single Entry (less than 90 days): ₹4,800 Long Term Single Entry (more than 91 days): ₹4,800

Application Process

  • Complete the Application: Fill out the visa application form and gather all required documents as listed above.
  • Submit Application: Submit your application and documents in person at the South Korean Embassy or Consulate. Some locations may also accept applications through a designated visa processing center.
  • Interview (if required): Some applicants may be required to attend an interview at the embassy or consulate.
  • Pay Visa Fee: Payment of the visa processing fee, which varies depending on the type of visa and processing time. 30-day e-Tourist Visa (during July to March) US$25.00
  • Receive Visa: After processing, your visa will be affixed to your passport. Make sure to check the visa details for accuracy before traveling.
